Minister of Health Riina Sikkut: Ülemiste City – a New Type of Healthy Business Campus
On September 30, Minister of Health Riina Sikkut visited the newly built Ülemiste City’s second Health Centre, named after von Baer, and got acquainted with the new 7-story building and its service providers during a visit organized by the Ülemiste City developers.
The Ülemiste City health cluster has been developed since 2017, and over the years the need for new services and service providers has been growing. “Ülemiste City Health Centres and the approach to the field here is unique – it is science-based and well-thought-out. From the idea based on the health model developed with the University of Tartu, two Health Centres and the Surgical Clinic have grown to date, which shows both the commitment of the developers and the growing need for services,” Sikkut said and added that in addition to services, the environment and healthy approach to the community also plays an important role.
The Minister recognized that versatile and available medical care is valuable for the community of Ülemiste City, because the service provider can be conveniently visited, for example, during a lunch break or after work, when it is otherwise difficult to get an appointment. “It is gratifying to see that health services are provided in several languages in the Ülemiste Health Centers – this shows that the developers of Ülemiste City think internationally and are in line with the campus’ ambition thinking about the ever-growing foreigners segment.”
During the visit, the Minister visited the Rosen Dental Clinic, Med4You Clinic, Valvekliinik, Perekliinik, Ülemiste Mental Health Clinic and Reio Vilipuu Rehabilitation Clinic.
